Our alumni have gone on to achieve success in a wide range of careers, universities, apprenticeships and industries. This page celebrates the journeys of former Pudsey Grammar School students, showcasing their experiences, achievements and advice for current students. We hope these case studies inspire you to explore the many different pathways available after school and demonstrate that there is no single route to success.
Our alumni continue to play an important role in the Pudsey Grammar School and Sixth Form community. Many return to share their experiences through careers talks, support industry visits to their workplaces, provide work experience opportunities, and act as mentors to our current students.

Dudley Hart

"Hi, I'm Dudley Hart and I left Sixth Form in 2025. I am now volunteering as an English teacher in Japan, working with the charity Project Trust.
About half way through my first year of Post-16 studies in Pudsey Grammar Sixth Form, I attended an assembly presented by a representative of the Project Trust. It was here that they informed everyone of their goal to send young people aged 17 to 25 to different countries around the world for an entire year to act as volunteer English teachers.
I instantly became interested with the thought of being able to travel to a completely new place and become accustomed with a regular citizen’s daily life. Today, I was lucky enough to be positioned in Kyoto, Japan and I have been working at my placement for 11 months now. It is absolutely no exaggeration when I say this has been the most rewarding and fulfilling 11 months I have ever lived. The memories and lifelong friendships I have made will always hold a special place in my heart. It was thanks to the initial assembly at Pudsey Grammar School that helped me discover this path after graduation. I would highly encourage anyone reading this to look into Project Trust and see if their placements are right for you, you won’t regret it!"
Gabriel Begonia

"Hi, I’m Gabriel! I left Sixth Form in May 2024 after my A-levels; I also sat my GCSEs here in 2022. Currently, I study Medicine at the University of Sheffield!
I started sixth form in September 2022 and only had my sights on becoming a doctor. Before and during my time in Post-16, I had researched what it would take to get into medical school. I’m so grateful for the Post-16 team at Pudsey Grammar School who helped me research alternatives to medical school, sit the UCAT and practise for medical school interviews.
Now, I am in my 3rd year as a medical student and I am about to start my clinical rotations! I am loving my time at university and I’ve met so many amazing people. Medical school is incredibly difficult of course but it’s worth the impact you have on others and all the other aspects of university life. I am now also on the committee for Sheffield’s Filipino Society and I play for Sheffield Medical School’s basketball team! Again, I’m very thankful for all the opportunities that PGS has given me to push myself, which will hopefully help me to become a General Practitioner in the next few years!"
