The pupil premium is money given to schools to improve the education of children who are economically disadvantaged or children who have been in care or adopted from care.  Pupils are re-recorded as eligible if they receive free school meals, or have been recorded as eligible in the past 6 years, including eligible children of families who have no recourse to public funds ( NRPF ) and children looked after by local authorities, referred to as looked-after children.
